Millionaires Club

Matchmaker, make me a match!

The recession hasn't hurt Patti Stanger's business a bit.

''We thought the Madoff scandal was going to crush us,'' says Stanger, the founder of the Millionaire's Club, a set-up service for richies, and star of Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker. ''But Silicon Valley is still rocking; I don't feel it.''

In last week's episode, the University of Miami grad actually hooked up two millionaires: Heidi Cornell, the 41-year-old founder of L.A. clothing line Young, Broke and Fabulous, and Bill Brandes, the 45-year-old Canadian owner of Kingfisher Resorts. Profitable merger there.

So what if you don't have seven figures in your bank account? In her new book Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate, Stanger, 47, gives advice to all singletons, even downsized ones.

''I teach men and women that there are ways of getting what you want, similar to making a sale,'' says Stanger, who credits herself for roughly 100 weddings and only one divorce. It's pretty simple to seal the deal, says the straight-talking New Jersey native, formerly with Miami's Great Expectations dating service. On the first few dates, both parties must act accordingly:

Guys: Don't discuss politics, religion or sex. The big no-no? Never ask a woman her age.
Gals: If you have short hair, get extensions; show cleavage, but don't look like you're breast-feeding; wear heels that are least four inches in height; don't lead the conversation (''Be an actress, not a director''); and please, keep your weight down. (Caveat for South Floridians: ''It's OK to have a little junk in the trunk in Latin communities.'')
Stanger -- who reportedly charges $100,000 for her services -- lives by these rules, but has yet to marry herself. She does have a boyfriend, though.
Is he a millionaire?

''No, he's an MIT,'' she says, laughing. ''A millionaire in training.''
